The science fiction epic, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, continues its triumphant run at the box office. With no major releases competing this weekend, the film is poised for a significant collection.

Kalki 2898 AD has already amassed a staggering ₹774 crore worldwide gross. Notably, on its eighth day, the film earned a substantial ₹49 crore, demonstrating its enduring appeal. This momentum has propelled the film towards the coveted ₹1,000 crore mark, much to the delight of Prabhas’ fans.

In a recent media interaction, director Nag Ashwin shed light on various aspects of the film. He revealed the deliberate decision to infuse humor into the Kashi scenes, aiming to avoid an excessively dark tone and showcase Prabhas’ comedic abilities.

Intriguingly, Ashwin disclosed that only 40% of the overall story is presented in Kalki 2898 AD, with the remaining portion reserved for the sequel. Having established the characters and the dystopian world in the first part, the sequel promises a more content-driven experience, brimming with emotions and action sequences.

Ashwin acknowledged taking cinematic liberties with the narrative. He emphasized that Kalki 2898 AD is a fictional story set against the backdrop of the Mahabharata, not a direct adaptation. He firmly denied any plans to depict the epic Mahabharata or cast Mahesh Babu as Lord Krishna in the sequel.

Ashwin’s revelations regarding the film’s future chapters have generated considerable excitement. With upcoming releases like “Sarfira” and “Indian 2” on the horizon, it will be intriguing to see if Kalki 2898 AD surpasses the ₹1,000 crore mark and challenges the records set by “RRR.”
