#17YearsForTagore: Megastar Chiranjeevi’s fans trend the hashtag as Tagore completes 17 years of release

On this day in 2003, the all-time blockbuster film Tagore hit screens, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role.
On Thursday, fans kept trending #17YearsForTagore all day to mark the occasion, as the film is considered to be one of the biggest hits in Chiru’s career, breaking multiple records at the box-office. Tagore was directed by VV Vinayak, and what many don’t know is that the film is actually a remake of the Tamil film Ramana.
In the film, Chiru played the role of a college professor who decides to eradicate corruption in society by taking on the government officials. He also starts an organisation on the down-low with his old students across the state to keep a check. The message-oriented drama was balanced out with commercial aspects to make it all the more entertaining.
Apart from Chiranjeevi’s performance, it was his graceful dance moves that made his fans go gaga when the film released. Shriya Saran and Jyothika played the female leads. VV Vinayak and Chiranjeevi teamed up again for the latter’s comeback 150 th film, Khaidi No 150, which is a remake of the Tamil film Kathi.
Now, Chiranjeevi has confirmed that he will team up with the director again for the Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Lucifer. Fans are eagerly waiting to see this super-hit combo once again. Apart from that, the star is busy with Acharya with Koratala Siva and Kajal Aggarwal. Shooting was halted due to the pandemic but is expected to resume soon. Ram Charan, who is bankrolling the film will also be seen in a key role in the film.
