Former heroine and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the AIADMK’s Puratchi Thalaivi Jayalalithaa, took oath as the state’s CM in a glittering ceremony at Madras University yesterday. Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah took in-charge of the ceremony as Jayaa and 28 of her MLAs sworn in as the ministers.

Jayalalithaa’s cabinet also has two Telugu ministers. While Kovilpatti MLA Kadamburu Raju was allotted the Information & Broadcasting ministry, Hosur MLA Bala Krishna Reddy was made minister of Dairy Development. Jayaa gesture of inducting Telugu legislators in her cabinet is being observed as a welcome move particularly when Amma’s government gave a tough time to Telugu students in Tamil Nadu last year.

Soon after swearing in as Tamil Nadu ‘s CM for the record 6th time, Jayalalithaa headed to the Secretariat and first signed on the farmers loan waiver file. Amma also ordered the removal of 500 wine shops across the state, keeping her election promise of phase wise implementation of liquor prohibition.
