20 Crores On A Flop Hero? Why Such Confidence?

Santosh Sobhan is one hero who always stays busy with multiple projects in his hand. He arrives with at least 3-4 films per year and tries to impress the public. But he is unable to find success as all of his films are ending up as duds at the box office. Barring ‘Ek Mini Katha’ which was an OTT release, Santosh did not have a single hit in his career till date. Who dares to spend 20 crores on such a hero? But the renowned banner ‘Swapna Cinema’ took that risk and invested way more than the hero’s market. Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt are known for believing in stories more than heroes and their market values.

They made hit movies like ‘Evade Subramanyam’, ‘Jathiratnalu’, ‘Sita Ramam’ and ‘Mahanati’ till date. Interestingly, all these flicks had over budget issues but the producers believed in the content and quality. They did the same now as well. They are putting their trust on the story and made ‘Anni Manchi Sakunamule’ with Santosh Sobhan. Director Nandini Reddy is in good form as her last film ‘Oh! Baby’ was a success. Now, she has made a complete family entertainer with a good love story. We are witnessing a lot of crime movies filled with bloodshed nowadays. Family movies have slowly disappeared and the makers decided to bring the families into the theatres with a simple and sweet film.

The casting includes Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Rao Ramesh, Gauthami, Shaokar Janaki and many others. Vasuki who played Pawan Kalyan’s sister in ‘Tholi Prema’ is also a part of this film. They are all plus points to this film. When everyone are thinking that putting 10 crores into Santosh Sobhan’s film is a big risk, ‘Anni Manchi Sakunamule’ team invested 20 crores in this movie which shows their confidence in the content. Malavika Nair is the heroine in this film while Mickey J Meyer is the music composer. Experts are predicting that this film is going to be a fun family treat that will run successfully in theatres. If it really happens, there is no other person who will be happier than Santosh Sobhan.
