In what could be most shocking and disgusting, the rape culture that jolted Kathua and Unnao has now reached Andhra Pradesh as well. After Asifa and Geetha’s brutal rapes followed by their death, now a similar case happened in AP’s heartland Guntur city.
Other day, a 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a 50-year-old rickshaw puller and that led to violent protests in Guntur last night. Till today morning, the locals blocked the roads demanding the arrest of the accused who is missing since then. Yesterday afternoon the child complained of severe stomach ache and bleeding, and doctors confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. Later the girl revealed that a rickshaw puller forced her.
After doctors performed a surgery on the girl, her kin took to streets to protests. They caught hold of the accused man’s son and beat him to the pulp until someone rescued him. Police confirmed that they will nab the accused in a very short time.
Recently a new rape law is formulated by Central Government, awarding death punishment for rapists of children below the age of 16. If caught and proved, AP man will be on the list of new law’s first justice.
