Lagadapati’s special trap on CBN

December 10, 2009. Though TDP lost power consecutively in two general elections, was this day which started weakening TDP in a very significant manner as Naidu convened a press conference saying the Centre has taken a hasty decision regarding Telangana which was followed by Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal’s resignation as an MP by afternoon on that day.

Then followed a series of resignations from MLA’s belonging to Rayalseema and Coastal Andhra cutting across all political parties. Though the formation of Telangana was halted, however no one could guarantee whether this was only temporary or permanent.

Naidu faced a lot of criticism over supporting Telangana during 2009 elections and playing his two-eyed policy from December in the same year. Political analysts say that TDP had to face a huge loss after falling into Lagadapati’s trap in 2009 and are guessing whether in case of a Pro Telangana decision by Congress, will Naidu fall into his trap again or will he still be able to silence his Seemandhra leaders just like how he has been doing now, right after the all party meeting in Delhi last December.
