Is India committing “International Suicide”?

Is India committing ‘International Suicide’? The moment one hears this question, people will generally think that Prime Minister Modi and Union Governments or other state governments might be getting ready to release some international terrorists.
Some think that this may be referring to BJP-PDP alliance in Kashmir and the controversies surrounding it. Every one knows how PDP chief Mufti Mohammed Sayeed after becoming Kashmir’s chief minister started supporting Pakistan, terrorists by thanking them and even releasing jailed terrorists. However this is nothing related to them.
It is once again about documentary “India’s Daughter” filmed by Leslee Udwin, who created controversy by interviewing Nirbhaya’s rape convict Mukesh Singh who justified crime and made insulting comments on women and went on to warn them.
This prompted Union Govt ban channels from airing the film. However Leslee says India is committing international suicide by doing so.
She says “The supreme irony is that they are now accusing me of having wanted to point fingers at India, defame India, and it is they who have committed international suicide by banning this film.” She goes on to add “If (Modi) spent one hour seeing this documentary, he would see his own statements since he got into power reflected in this film.
The film is saying exactly what he’s saying with his ‘Beti Bachao’ campaign,” The banning of documentary divided Indian society with one section supporting the ban and another opposing it. In the midst of all this Bar Council of India served notices to defense lawyers for supporting rapist’s statement and making insulting remarks against women.
