Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan Rao had a narrow escape on Saturday when the car he was travelling hit a tractor coming in opposite direction. The accident took place at Tanguturu in the outskirts. While the driver of the car suffered injuries, Janardhan Rao managed to escape with minor bruises.
Damacharla Janardhan is also Prakasam district’s TDP president. He is the grandson of former TDP Minister Damacharla Anjaneyulu. Janardhan won on YSRCP’s strong candidate Balineni Srinivasa Reddy by over 12,000 votes thus ending winning spree of four-time MLA Balineni.
Janardhan managed to won over Balineni with the help of large number of Kapu community voters in the constituency. Pawan’s whirlwind tour helped Janardhan to bag those votes and thus giving him much-needed victory.
