The mother Congress (Indian National Congress) and baby Congress (YSR Congress) seems to be walking hand-in-hand on ground although acting as “opponents” in public. Congress fielding its candidates opposite TDP in the by-elections but staying away from the by-elections where YSRCP plays predominant role is raising several pertinent questions and giving fillip to rumours that it’s acting at the behest of YSRCP.
Pitting candidate in the recently concluded Nandigama by-election opposite daughter of late TDP MLA and so fielding candidate in the Tirupati by-election opposite widow who lost her husband is adding weight to the speculations. While tradition is to not to field candidate in the by-elections respecting the sentiments of people and bereaved family which lost its member, Congress going against the tradition in the bye-elections held in TDP’s constituency definitely hinting that there is a hand-in-glove between both Thalli Congress and Pilla Congress.
“Congress didn’t field its candidate opposite YSRCP in Allagadda byelection. But why is it so adamant in contesting against TDP in Nandigama and Tirupati?” asked Payyaula Keshav who alleged that both fixed match. “Congress already became zero in the new state of Andhra Pradesh and people have out rightly rejected the party for the manner in which it bifurcated the state.
Still fighting with TDP in the by-election is not a welcome decision. People will teach them a strong lesson. Already it lost in Nandigama and will lose in Tirupati too,” said another TDP senior leader. Now it’s for Congress to answer why it hasn’t fielded its candidate in Allagadda but why is it now doing in Nandigama and Tirupati?
