KCR Is ‘Indian of the Year’ 2014

Telangana Chief Minister KCR is all set to become Indian of the Year award in the online poll conducted by popular English news channel CNN-IBN. In the poll KCR is leading the race by polling 31% votes. Vijayan, Kerala based IPS officer is in the second place with 21% votes. 
Vijayan is currently Deputy Inspector General of Police (intelligence) in Kerala. This came as a surprise not only for people across the country but also Channel as KCR left behind 35 nominees in six categories.
Popular celebrities like Bollywood actor Amir Khan, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Indian Army, National Response Force. Many are of the opinion that with 10% huge difference between the first and second slots, KCR’s victory is just a formality. 
In the midst of these speculations CNN IBN vice president Srivastsava met CM KCR at the secretariat and congratulated. Srivatsava felt KCR as a CM of newly formed Telangana state attained tremendous popularity to leave behind even Bollywood stars. 
Online polling will continue till 31st of Jan and Indian of the Year award will be announced in Feb.
