After spate of bad showing star movies which producers into brink, industry bigwigs suggest that T-town superstar from Pawan to Mahesh, NTR to Ram Charan, Prabhas and Ravi Teja, should revise their pay cheques and draw a salary that is equivalent to their 1st day collection. Since stars guarantee ‘openings’ irrespective of directors, script and producers, so they deserve this privilege and should ‘take 1st day revenue as their remuneration’.
Competition among producers to bag dates of big stars, has caused a unprecedented hike in star salaries, so its time for stars to cut down on it. For instance, Pawan and Mahesh proved that they can draw 10 plus crore on day one and similarly NTR and Ram charan pull in 8 crore plus and Prabhas and Ravi Teja around 7 crore openings, so there should pocket these sums instead of demanding twice and thrice of this rates, which has pushed big producers to bankruptcy. “For now, that only pragmatic and logical solution to save industry from collapsing” adds a producer, Is it justified?
