The #SelfieWithDaughter campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save the girl child caught the attention of the World. In an attempt to publish an article on this campaign, New York Times has committed a blunder and has no option but to apologies.
Soon after the #SelfieWithDaughter campaign kickstarted, The one picture which caught everyone’s attention was that of AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and Rajya Sabha TV Journalist Amrita Rai with whom he has been in a relationship. Digvijay was trolled on the social networking site with the intimate picture and tweets such as ‘Selfie with Girl Friend of Daughter’s Age…’.
New York Times completely misread the Twitter troll and made the photo of Digvijay & Amrita a part of the article published. Soon after realizing the mistake, NYT removed the photo and conveyed an apology for including the satirical comment about an Indian Politician seen in a photograph with his companion, not his daughter.
