Seems Palamuru ettipotala project is becoming not the water issue between various parties but prestige issue between governments and ruling, opposition parties. Already TDP and TRS parties which are in power in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are whipping up passions on the project thus vitating the atmosphere.
Since the project and the decision on it involves only Andhra Pradesh and Telangana both the governments are taking it as a prestige issue and not budging from the stated rigid position. Under these circumstances ruling TRS party headed by KCR gave Palamuru branch recently. Generally parties in power stay away from bandhs and agitations.
Previously KCR represented Palamuru MP Constituency but however in the last elections TRS did not get the required support in the constituency. In the last MLC elections too TRS party candidate lost the fight and this is making KCR restless.
Thus KCR and his government concentrated all its energies on Palamuru district. He is making moves to strengthen the party in Palamuru. Many say this is the reason KCR is intensifying Palamuru project controversy. The letter given by AP state government opposing Palamuru project came as blessing in disguise. TRS used to the optimum and emerged successul in sending signals that TDP is against the project.
