Director Ram Gopal Varma’s sensational comment has now become the talk of the town. Varma claimed that Baahubali protagonist Prabhas has got Rs 65 Crore as remuneration for the film’s Part I alone for his two years of effort. “All us fools thought Prabhas did mistake gvng 2 yrs time without taking money nd now he’s getting 65 cr share frm profits of just part 1. Which star other than Prabhas ever got 65 cr and an ultra mega hit and then international recognition for just 2 years of work ?,” wrote Varma.
However, senior film journalists are differing with director Ram Gopal Varma’s statements. “Rs 65 Crore as remuneration for Prabhas for the part 1 of Baahubali alone is big joke. In fact, Prabhas’ fee wouldn’t even be close to half of the amount quoted by RGV. Varma’s claims are absolutely trash,” opined a film journalist on condition of anonymity.
Another senior journalist opined, “As per the available information, Prabhas was given the collections share of Tamil version. On whole, Prabhas would have got around Rs 14 to 15 Crore as fee and nothing more than that.” He added that all other cast in the film was paid decent pay, usually as per the market norms. So, Varma’s claim that Prabhas was paid a staggering remuneration of Rs 65 Crore is definitely seems to be big joke. What say folks?
