Unlike Hyderabad where Hindi (albeit mixed with Urdu) is one of the most widely spoken languages, AP’s new capital Amaravathi hasn’t have people speaking Hindi in large numbers. This is said to be one of the major shortcomings for the new capital as several companies, MNCs are considering this factor before setting up their units. Since most of the employees they hire are from North, even companies are still considering Hyderabad as safe bet which accommodates multi-lingual people.

It does not mean that AP can’t accommodate all sections of people. People in AP are friendly. But it takes sometime to develop multi-lingual, global culture,” said a socio-economist. Also, the flip side of the story is that cities like Chennai and Bengaluru shown tremendous growth despite not having Hindi as widely spoken language. “All that matters is infrastructure, amenities, favourable atmosphere. Growth will happen naturally,” added famous socio-economist.
