Immediately after bifurcation, the state government employees went on a strike and got an increase in their wages on par with their Telangana counterparts. And despite this benefit, they refused to transfer to the new capital region.
So now, the government has announced a bonanza for them. State government employees will get own houses if they relocate immediately to Vijayawada.
The government will pay the initial amount to the builder. What’s more, the employees need not pay the equated monthly installment (EMI) to own the house; all they need to do is to forgo their claim on the housing rent allowance (HRA).
The government will also take care of the interest component as part of the liberalized housing scheme. HUDCO will build about 10,000 houses for the employees without charging a single rupee from them.
The construction cost will be collected in monthly installments and will be deducted from the HRA of the employees. If the monthly installment is more than the HRA of the employees, the difference will be paid by the state government.
Why does the government need to appease the employees by giving such schemes? Is it not the duty of the employees to relocate wherever the administration orders it to? What have they lost in bifurcation more than the common people of Seemandhra? Knowing fully well that AP was facing a financial crisis; they went ahead with their strike for wage increase.
Why is Naidu so keen on appeasing them? If they refuse to relocate, sack them and appoint fresh ones in their place. It’s not the end of the world? What special sacrifices have these employees made for Seemandhra that they merit such preferential treatment?
Chandrababu is also guilty for this situation. Instead of being the first to shift to Andhra, he was busy refurbishing his existing homes in Hyderabad and his cabinet followed suit and continues to operate from Hyderabad. So they cumulatively set a bad example.
