During and after the release of Tollywood’s pride and India’s biggest film Baahubali, all the Telugu film lovers were in a state of hysteria. Baahubali’s never seen before visuals and Hollywood level making standards spellbinded our audiences. After the film became a sensational blockbuster with a magnitude Indian cinema could ever think of, many experts felt that Telugu film lovers will not appreciate any other film until the next few months.
Many felt that all the big films like Srimanthudu, Rudhramadevi etc must postpone at least by 2, 3 months so that the audiences can come out of Baahubali mania. However, Telugu audiences being highly tentative as usual, made Srimathudu, a family entertainer, a blockbuster in Mahesh Babu’s career. The film is now the second highest grosser in Tollywood’s history and it still looks to continue its solid run at the box-office.
While this explains that the Tolywood audiences are slowly coming out of Baahubali mania, it also proves that they are in a mood for watching a variety of films. After making Srimanthdu a smash hit, Telugu audiences even made a small romantic film like Cinema Choopistha Maava a successful venture.
And now, Ravi Teja’s latest mass masala offering, Kick 2, has also opened to packed houses and highest ever record collections in Ravi Teja’s career. The film, even though got a divide talk on its first day, is witnessing housefulls allover and will fully encash the weekend advantage. Well, Tollywood audiences have once again proved that they enjoy all types of films, provided they are well made and presented.
