Chief Minister of AP Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said that if needed, he will talk to the Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa over the development of Telugu language and the rights of Telugu people in the Tamil land. Speaking to Tamil media at Chennai airport on his way to Singapore, Chandrababu said that his government has been running Tamil schools in Andhra Pradesh for Tamil students.
Chandrababu further requested the Tamil Nadu government to follow suit and facilitate primary education in mother language for the Telugus in Tamil Nadu. The CM further clarified that the AP Chief Secretary has already been in talks with the Tamil Nadu CS, and that he too will intervene as and when necessary.
It is well known that the Tamil Nadu government has recently issued a Nirbhandha Tamil GO, making it mandatory for other language students in the state to enroll themselves only in Tamil medium, thereby distancing them from their mother language. Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan was expected to fight for the rights of Telugus living in Tamil Nadu soon.
