Ganesh puja frenzy among the staunch devotees across the country is well known and it often gets hysteric with all the Ganesh pandals buzzing with over the top with loud decibel levels. Every year, the voice levels that come off these pandals frighten the nearby residents including kids. Now, the latest victims are none other than Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s family members, daughter Aadya and Renu Desai.
Last night, Renu Desai tweeted about her and her daughter Aadya’s ordeal with loud music from a nearby pandal. In Renu’s words, “Horribly loud item songs blaring last 30mins on road. Aadya complaining,unable to sleep. Does Ganesha really need item songs to prove bhakti?” While these words seem like a regular complaint, they also raise the important question of religious sycophancy in the name of god.
It’s high time that these so called hysteric devotees realize that they are causing more sound and environmental pollution than propagating religious fervor. Even the strict laws against such polluting measures are not being implemented by the concerned authorities.
