Even before Asha Bhosle come to terms with the suicide of her daughter (2012), she lost her elder son. Asha’s eldest son Hemant Bhosle was died on Monday (Sep 28) in Scotland. He was diagnosed with cancer five years ago and had been battling with it since then. He was 66-year-old. He wanted to spend his last days in Scotland and was staying there for the past five years.
Following footsteps of his veteran singer-mother Asha Bhosle, Hemant worked as music director and composed a few songs like Jage Jage Nainon Mein (from the film Damaad), Shraddhanjali, Nazrana Pyaar Ka, etc. Asha Bhosle had sung most of these songs.
Asha Bhosle came to know about the tragedy when she was in Singapore and was preparing to leave for Mumbai to attend the planned birthday celebration of her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar. A grand birthday celebration was planned for the Bharat Ratna nightingale Lata who turned 87 on Monday, Sept 28. However, the party has been called off after the news of Hemant’s passing away.
