At least 16 members of a marriage party were killed in a tragic road accident that took place on Saturday morning in Prakasam district. The tragedy occurred when a private travel bus collided with a mini lorry carrying 40 members of a marriage party. Both the vehicles fell into a nearby pool and the bus catched fire and burnt . The fire fighters however reached the spot and brought down the fire.
The travel bus had no passengers except driver whereas the mini lorry was carrying 40 people. The incident took place in Y.Cherlo Palem village of Valeti Vari Palem Mandal.
The victims were rushed to Kandukuru government hospital. 12 seriously injured were shifted to Ongole RIMS. The victims were on identified as residents of Chevuru village of Prakasam district. The tragedy occurred while they were on their way to Malakonda.
