Amidst grand gala buzz on laying of foundation stone for a world-class capital city Amaravathi, the separatists from Rayalaseema are not making it easy for the government of AP.
Calling October 22nd, the D-day for foundation of Amaravathi, as “Black Day”, Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, the president of Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi, pointed out at the injustice being meted out to the Rayalaseema region. Alleging that CM Chandrababu Naidu is continuing the tradition of “injustice” to Seema, he gave a call to the people of Rayalaseema to not to attend the foundation ceremony of Amaravathi.
“Whoever attends the foundation ceremony of Amaravathi will remain as the traitor of Rayalaseema. We are urging the people of Seema to not to attend the event,” said Byreddy. He demanded that the capital city should be built in Rayalaseema and not in Andhra region as proposed by the AP government.
“Even as per the Sri Bhag agreement, the capital should be in Rayalaseema and not in Andhra. Mr Naidu and his followers have bought thousands of acres in capital region and doing a real-estate business. For the foundation ceremony, government is spending hundreds of crores which is unfair,” said Byreddy stating that he is contemplating to file a public interest litigation in the High Court.
