The Dasara festive season is over and Tollywood is gearing up for Diwali crackers at the box-office. In the meantime, several small budget films like Swati-Naveen Chandra’s Tripura, Tamil star Dhanush’s Mariyaan and young music director GV Prakash Kumar’s Trisha Leda Nayanthara will be testing their luck this week.
While Tripura is a horror drama, Maryaan is an emotional love saga. On the other hand, Trisha Leda Nayanthara is an overdose of adult content in the name of message to youths. The film was a huge success in Tamil but was secretly panned by critics for its excessive double meaning dialogues and sleaze.
What’s even more startling is that the Telugu makers are promoting the film as the ‘worst ever love story in the history of Tollywood’. With the taglines like ‘Love is injurious to health’ and ‘Get ready virgins’, the makers seem to be sure about whom they are targeting.
Whether the Tollywood audiences are ready to accept such a bold film after coming fresh off meaningful films like Baahubali, Srimanthudu and Kanche etc will be revealed in a few days.
