WhatsApp is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp has been ranked as one of the top 25 most downloaded apps in over 100 countries on the App Store and has received over 1 Billion installs on Google Play.

Ever since Facebook had acquired the app last year, it has been making efforts to enhance its user base by doing useful modifications. As part of this, according to reports, the company is rumored to soon introduce the video calling feature to the app.

However, no date has been announced for this functionality. This new feature is sure to give a tough competition to other video calling apps such as Skype, FaceTime etc. However, the speculated new design has been leaked online.

According to leaked screenshots by German website Macerkopf, the user interface will be quite similar to the voice calling function. One will also be able to use both, rear and front facing camera for video calling as well.

The screenshots show the iOS app version and is also expected to add a multi-tab feature so as to make it easy for one to switch between different conversations and groups.

The report adds that the color green will become more dominant in WhatsApp for iOS’ scheme. This will make the iPhone version of WhatsApp more consistent with the Android version.
