In fact, liquor is the best options to celebrate any occasion for bachelors as well as married men. The New Year has been invited with boundless ‘kick’. On December 31, over Rs. 200 crore worth liquor was sold in Telanagna state alone. This is a Rs. 50 crore extra sales compared to last year. Not just in Hyderabad, the alcohol sales were huge in other towns and rural areas too.
According to a report by the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited (TSBCL), which involves track & trace mechanism and liquor validation, the total liquor sales in Greater Hyderabad region and its outskirts alone was Rs. 120 crore.
The report adds that, this time alcohol lovers preferred expensive and imported liquor. The TSBCL in a statement said that the total December sales in the state was Rs. 1,250 crore which is around Rs 250 crores high, compared to the month sales last year.
There are 500 retail liquor sales shops, 495 bars, 25 clubs besides resorts and private events in the greater Hyderabad city limits that sold Rs. 120 crore worth of liquor for the New Year event.
The retail outlets, bars and clubs start stocking liquor four days prior to New Year. Starting from December 28 to 31, the various TSBCL depots on average sold Rs. 75 crore of liquor each day!
