In contravention to the belief that powerful people have bundles of cash stocked up in their lockers at home, Prime Minister Narendra Modi apparently does not keep much of cash.
The latest data shows that ‘the cash in hand’ is just Rs 4,700. However, the total assets fetch up to whopping 1.41 crore, primarily due to property in Gujarat. The value of the land, which was purchased in 2002, had gone up by 25 times.
Prime Minister’s Office revealed that Modi neither possesses any motor, vehicle, aircraft, ship nor holds any bank account in Delhi. According to the disclosure made in mid-fiscal in August 2014, Modi then had Rs 38,700. However, the current details show that it plunged to Rs 4,700.
