In December last year, two of the most happening music composers in Tollywood, Devi Sri Prasad and Anup Rubens faced a major personal tragedy. While DSP lost his father and senior writer Satya Murthy, Anup Rubens’ mother Manoharamma passed away within a week’s time.
At the recent Gama music awards, DSP was given the Best Commercial Song award for his Super Machi song from S/O Satyamurthy. Receiving the award, DSP announced that he is dedicating this award not only to his father but also Anup Rubens’ mother.
DSP explained that he understands Anup’s pain in losing his biggest strength, as he too lost his father who was his main pillar of strength. Incidentally, Anup Rubens too was given the Best Background Song award for the film Gopala Gopala on the same stage.
