The ruling BJP has said that the most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim’s properties worth Rs 15,000 Cr have been seized by the authorities of United Arab Emirates (UAE). BJP called the action, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Diplomatic Masterstroke’.

“Major diplomatic success of PM Modi: One of India’s most wanted criminals, Dawood Ibrahim’s properties worth Rs. 15,000 crore seized in UAE,” the BJP tweeted, adding that the action against Dawood was based on a list of the fugitive’s assets handed over by Modi during his visit to the UAE in 2015.

Dawood Ibrahim is accused of plotting the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts and also masterminding several other terror attacks across the world. He is also facing multiple charges of money laundering, extortion and financing terror groups.

He is believed to be hiding in Pakistan and has been pursued by India for over two decades. He frequently changes his hideout in Pakistan making it tough to track him. BJP however has said that efforts are being put in to bring Dawood to India and punish him legally.
