Veteran director and former union minister Dasari Narayana Rao continues to be in a critical condition, but doctors who are treating him at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences are hopeful that he would be alright in the next couple of days.

According to director of KIMS Dr Bollineni Bhaskar Rao, Dasari had suffered rupture of colon due to infection and it spread to various parts.

“We have cleaned the colon part and are giving treatment for infection. At the same time, his both the lungs have failed and hence, he has been kept on ventilator. We are cleaning lungs. And for the failed kidneys, we are doing dialysis. He is responding to all the treatments and his condition is stable, though critical,” the doctor said.

Senior actor-producer Mohan Babu said the veteran director was alright for now.

“Let us all pray for his speedy recovery. The God has given him a lot of willpower and we are confident that he will recover in a short time,” he said.
