The revolutionary orders passed by the Supreme Court in order to reform the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are taking a toll on the Indian cricketers as the governing body is in no position to pay their daily allowances.

Although the senior team has no issues whatsoever with the happenings against the BCCI, India’s Under-19 team is reportedly dealing with the aftermath of SC’s orders. According to national media reports, the junior players including their coach and former cricketer Rahul Dravid are yet to receive their daily allowances from BCCI.

The absence of an official signatory after the SC removed the incumbent chief has made drawing funds impossible for the cricket board. The BCCI members need to pass a new resolution for the appointment of a new signatory. Until then, the financial woes of players may continue.

This has led to junior cricketers not receiving their entitled allowance of Rs. 6,800 per day. The cricketers have had to pay for their dinner and some are even depending on their parents to survive this cash crunch.

Generally, BCCI takes care of all the daily expenses of the players but the junior cricketers are now having no option but to take money from their own pocket for every small and big need.
