After providing the super bonanza free offer for close to six months now, Reliance Jio, the new entrant to the cellular world, is getting ready to levy charges on its users. Having terrified the existing Indian giants like Bharati Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, Jio has registered a whopping of 100 million customers in record time – said to be faster than Whatsapp, Facebook and others in world.
Mukesh Ambani, the managing director of Reliance group, has recently declared a few extremely welcoming tariffs for all existing and new users. Starting 1st April, the company is going to lift free offer and will begin cater the following plan for the existing customers who take up the Jio Prime membership for Rs 99 for one time: unlimited calls and 1GB data/day for Rs 303 a month.
However, the company reports that for new users who sign up after 31st March will have to pay according to subscription plans ranging from 149 to 4,999 Rs. The monthly plan offered for Prime subscribers is being projected as cost-friendly, considering the plans offered by Airtel 345 (1GB free data) and 549 (3GB free data).
‘The surplus internet quantity and free calls are a good sign for data and cellular users as it could break many existing rules set by Bharati Airtel and others,’ opines a Jio user from Hyderabad.
In what can be called as an interesting analytics, put out by Ambani, Jio users have enjoyed more than 100crore GB of data per month – which is equal to overall mobile data consumed by US and half of China.
