Theatre Managers Became Demi-Gods

unknown

You may call Megastar Chiranjeevi and the likes as demi-gods, but that is on the silver screen. Now for the next couple of weeks, it’s theatre managers who are have become demi-gods for many Telugu audiences. And here’s why.

The moment Baahubali: The Conclusion tickets are opened online, immediately all the bookings are getting over. It is not even taking minutes for the shows to get sold out. A known fact is that every single screen or multiplex holds some 40% tickets to be sold at counters and half of these tickets will be allotted basing on recommendations.

Now that Baahubali 2 is coming, managers of some noted theatres in Hyderabad are every day getting up to a horde of phone calls from offices of ministers, MLAs and even IPS officers, say reports.  At the same time, some big businessmen, some film personalities are all exerting pressure on these managers to give them tickets.

No doubt, for the next couple of weeks all these managers will be more than a Minister or an MLA who could favour for the people calling them up. In a sense, they became demi-gods. Should we attribute this to the power of cinema?
