Abhinav Bindra, the only Indian to have won a Gold medal in an individual event at Olympics, seemingly took a dig at Team India skipper Virat Kohli just a day after cricket team’s head coach Anil Kumble tendered his resignation on Tuesday.
It is known that the alleged differences between Kohli and Kumble led to the legendary Indian leg-spinner quit the job of head coach, needless to say evoking diverse reactions among fans and cricket fraternity alike.
Bindra, known for being very vocal on social media, on Wednesday, took to Twitter to make a cryptic tweet, giving a piece of advice to Kohli on how he could have dealt with his coach.
“My biggest teachers was coach Uwe.I hated him!But stuck with him for 20 years. He always told me things I did not want to hear.#justsaying,” tweeted Bindra.
Although the ace shooter hasn’t mentioned the name of either Kumble or Kohli, the timing of his tweet and the words he used substantially convey whom he was targeting.
Soon after Bindra’s tweet, shuttler Jwala Gutta too joined him, writing, “@Abhinav_Bindra Sometimes that’s the important part of training. I remember my sir doing the same…he still does it!!!”
It needs to be seen how the aggressive Kohli responds.
