
The Central Government on Friday announced the names of another list of 30 cites for development as smart cities. Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh stood in 4th position. With this announcement made by Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation M Venkaiah Naidu, the total cities picked up so far to 90 under the Smart City Mission launched on June 25, 2015. Andhra Pradesh Minister Narayana speaking to a media channel thanked all the concerned officials whose efforts made this to happen. Minister Narayana said that with this announcement Center will release the amount of Rs 200 crore in this regard apart from other benefits.
