While there was a strong attack on team India for losing to Pakistan in Champions Trophy final, the union minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment made an interesting and absurd allegation against Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh.
Speaking to media, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has attacked captain Virat Kohli and Yuvraj with ‘match-fixing’ charges and went to demand an enquiry on the final match. ‘How can our batsmen who played well in the earlier match (league-stage) can bow to Pakistan in the final?,’ questioned the Union Minister who also demanded for ‘Dalit’ reservation in the team.
After losing to Pakistan by massive 180 runs, Indian team had to face enormous criticism from fans, former-cricketers and now politicians as well. What makes the news even bigger is – coming it from an Union Minister under Modi-led government.
It can now be re-called that prior to the final match, when Pakistan team trounced England in semi-final, an ex-PCB selector Aamir Sohail also shot fixing allegations against Pakistan team and he was not convinced with their team’s fabulous performance despite being in bad form.
