Thanks to director Boyapati Sreenu’s brand, neatly stuffed commercial elements and par word of mouth, Jaya Janaki Nayaka has put up a decent performance at box office in the first week. This however is not enough since the investment is too huge on this film.
By the end of its first week in theatres, JJN collected a worldwide share of approx. 16 crore. As per trade experts, the film needs to recover 28-30 crore to be called a safe venture. The film is earning significant moolah but it is likely to end up as a loss venture unless a miracle happens.
Below is the break up:
Nizam – 4,44,00,000
Ceded – 2,95,00,000
Nellore – 74,00,000
Guntur – 1,34,00,000
Krishna – 86,00,000
West – 98,00,000
East – 1,14,00,000
Uttharandhra – 2,04,00,000
Total 1st week AP & TG Share – 14.49 Cr
Karnataka – 90,00,000
Remaining – 50,00,000
Total 1st week Worldwide Share – 15.89 Cr (approx 25 Cr Gross)
The performance of JJN in overseas is utterly poor. The film has already been declared an outright washout, with both distributors and exhibitors losing huge money. JJN collected a mere $100K so far.
