YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited ‘Chinna’ Jeeyar Swami on Tuesday morning and took his ‘blessings’ ahead of his Padayatra. Jagan, who came from Bangalore to Hyderabad in the morning went directly from the Shamshabad Airport to meet the Chinna Jeeyar Swami at the Vedapatasala run by the Chinna Jeeyar Trust. Jagan met the Swami for over 30 minutes.
Jagan’s close aide and Rajya Sabha member Vijaysai Reddy and KCR’s close friend My Home Group owner Jupalli Rajeswara Rao have accompanied Jagan.
While many in politics say it as a common act, however, analysts opine that Jagan has some ‘hidden’ agenda as well behind taking ‘blessings’ of Jeeyar Swami.
Apparently, Jagan has been trying to offer an olive branch to BJP from longtime. Jagan is of the opinion that he could only beat TDP with the support of BJP. Even BJP has ‘encouraged’ Jagan and TDP simultaneously and played it very smart keeping the next general elections in mind.
However, post debacle of YSRCP in Nandyal by-election and Kakinada Municipal polls, BJP has made up its mind to sail with TDP in 2019 as well. Now, BJP is no mood to pair up with Jagan who is on a downward spiral.
But YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is in no mood to give up. Jagan ‘s meeting with Chinna Jeeyar Swami is also an indication to BJP that he has Hindu orientation as well besides being a staunch Christian. In fact, political experts say that Jagan is banking on Jeeyar Swami to coordinate between BJP, YSRCP and TRS and make it a grand alliance.
On other hand, TRS too wooing BJP but in vain. Is Jagan-Jeeyar Swami’s meeting really has more than what it looks? Only time will tell.
