Nandi Awards Controversy Heats Up

The heat erupted over Nandi Awards announced by AP state government yesterday is not going to cool down anytime soon as debate continues with opposition rages. While Rudhramadevi director Gunasekhar has been openly questioning AP government for not giving away any award to his film, the fans of Allu Arjun are adding fuel to the fire while Akkineni fans are snowballing the debate into a major controversy.

In addition to the whole scene, the fresh comments of Nandi Award jury member Prasanna Kumar’s fresh comments in a TV channel discussion are expected to create more trouble for the TDP government.

Responding to why Balakrishna’s Legend was chosen over Akkineni’s Manam, Prasanna Kumar has given a logic that is stunning many rationale-thinking people. Prasanna claimed, “LegendĀ  has a social message whereas Manam is a film on rebirths that is far from reality. Legend ran for over 1170 days and so the award.”

These comments of Prasanna Kumar are not going down well with the fans of Nagarjuna who are questioning the over-the-top action scenes shot with cinematic liberties. A few fans of Mega and Akkineni camps are going further and stating that whether jury would give Awards to films that are run for long in theatres stating that if it is so, they say they are ready to hire a theatre and make run their hero’s films for long there.

Meanwhile, many say that Prasanna Kumar’s comments are his personal commitments and nothing to do with Nandi Awards jury committee. It is learnt that even AP State government is apparently upset over this unwanted controversy that is created out-of-blue.

However, going by the present trend, this controversy may not going to die soon unless the Nandi Award jury committee comes up with a proper clarification or explanation. Let’s wait and see what’s in the store.
