Teen Opens Fire in US School; Kills 2, Injures Dozen

In a tragic incident, two students were dead and over dozen sustained injuries when a 15-year-old boy, armed with a handgun, allegedly opened fire on his classmates in a rural high school in Kentucky early Tuesday.

According to the authorities, the teenager walked into Marshall High School in Benton, Kentucky, at around 8 a.m on Tuesday, and went on a shooting spree, for no apparent reason, before being stopped by a sheriff’s deputy. One student was dead on the spot and one succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Over dozen sustained injuries.

The teen shooting suspect faces murder and attempted murder charges. There is no apparent motive, and so authorities plan to search the suspect’s home as they investigate his motives. The sheriff investigating the case said, ‘students had recently been trained in how to respond to active shooters and they did exactly as they were trained, otherwise the causalities would have been more’.
