Samantha Akkineni has had a bright start to 2018 with the success of Ram Charan-starrer Rangasthalam, which grossed over Rs 200 crore.
The actress is now waiting for the release of Mahanati, that hits the screens next week.
In a recent interview to an English daily, the actress opened up on her stance on the ongoing casting couch controversy.
Samantha said, “Casting couch exists in every industry and not just in films. I can’t comment about each and everyone’s virtue or qualities. There will be a few black sheep everywhere. But, I am working in Tamil and Telugu industry for the last eight years. My first film was a hit and I didn’t have much of a struggle.”
“I do believe from the bottom of my heart that there are a lot of good things in the film industry. I have met the most beautiful and helpful human beings in the industry. That is why I want to continue working in the industry even after I give birth to a child. It is good to note that the government has formed a special cell to look into the complaints of sexual exploitation,” she added.
For the past couple of weeks, Sri Reddy has taken the issue of casting couch in her hands and has been protesting against it.
Her protest got nationwide recognition which has pressurised the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce to set up a committee to act against sexual harassment.
