Vakkantam Vamsi was one of the most sought after script writers prior to his directorial debut. Vamsi is the go to writer for directors like Surender Reddy.
He penned stories for blockbuster films like Kick and Race Gurram. He did a fabulous work as a writer in Temper film.
Despite being in top form as a writer, Vakkantam Vamsi moved towards direction to fulfill his long lasting desire to become a successful director.
He was supposed to make debut as director with NTR’s film, but it finally happened with an Allu Arjun starrer. Naa Peru Surya film had a good storyline but exposed Vamsi’s weaknesses as a director.
With Naa Peru Surya bombing at box office it will be tough for Vamsi to find another offer as a director. Will he get back to writing in the meantime? His scripts for films like Kick 2 and Touch Chesi Chudu also turned out to be duds.
Director Surender Reddy who always encouraged him is currently busy with Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
