Telangana election campaigning is giving people many instances to laugh at. One such election gimmick by an independent candidate happened in Jagitial. Akula Hanumantha Rao, during his campaigning, distributed slippers to people and ask them to slipper him if he does not fulfil the promises he made.
Hanumantha Rao is contesting from Korutla constituency of Jagitial district. Along with slippers, he handed over pamphlets during his door-to-door campaign and offered his resignation letter in advance. He said that this “future resignation letter” is for the time if he doesn’t work well.
Meanwhile, the pictures of Hanumantha Rao distributing slippers to people are going viral on social media. It has in fact become a topic of serious discussion by netizens. While it is really a funny gimmick, on the flipside, it also shows that he is serious about his candidature for the constituency. Let us wait and watch if he can prove his words through his actions.Â
