Meda Exit, Redbus Charan Entry?

Following the ouster of Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy, the Telugu Desam Party is considering other options. Meda had differences internally with party workers and this compelled the party High Command to suspend him. Also, he was the only one from the TDP who had won a seat in Kadapa district, which is considered to be a YSRCP stronghold, in the 2014 assembly elections.

At a time when Meda is in talks with the YSRCP and has almost decided to join the party, the yellow party is in talks with Red Bus co-founder Charan Padmaraju for the Rajampet seat.

Apparently, Charan has met TDP MP C.M. Ramesh and spoke with him about his interest in the Rajampet seat. Following discussions with Ramesh, Charan is said to meet TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu along with Ramesh to evince his interest on the seat. The Telugu Desam Party is yet to finalise the party Rajampet in-charge.

According to sources, Charan will meet Chandrababu tomorrow. And, following the meeting with the CM, the announcement for Rajampet in-charge will be made in his presence, say TDP sources.
