Maharshi OS Sold for Rs 11.5 Cr

At last, Mahesh Babu’s “Maharshi” has closed its overseas deal. Dil Raju who is co-producing this movie along with Ashwini Dutt and PVP wanted nearly Rs 16 Cr for overseas rights but no one came forward to pay such high price.

Finally, Great India Films that distributed Mahesh Babu’s previous films like ‘Pokiri’ and ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ has clinched the overseas deal for Rs 11.5 Cr.

This deal includes USA, Australia, Gulf region and other overseas territories. This deal goes like this: Rs 11.5 Cr for rights, if the movie collects more than Rs 16 Cr share in overseas market, then profits will be shared by producers.

Mahesh Babu’s “Bharat Ane Nenu” was sold for higher price than “Maharshi”. BAN grossed about $3.5 million in USA and $600k in Australia and another $400k from other areas.

Despite such massive revenue, the distributors were left with no profits. Given this reason, no distributor was willing to hefty amount.
