The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon release new Rs 20 bank notes, bearing the signature of Governor Shaktikanta Das. The new denomination will have the motif of the Ellora Caves on the reverse, portraying the country’s cultural heritage and of course, Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait intact.
The colour of the new note will be greenish yellow and the previous Rs 20 notes issued by the RBI in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender. The background will have geometric patterns and the dimension of the new Rs 20 note will be 63 mm x 129 mm, the statement said.
On the front, the details of the note will have denominational numeral 20 and also in Devanagari. It also has Mahatma Gandhi image at the centre, micro letters like RBI, INDIA, 20, and ‘Bharat’ in Hindi. The original notes will have the Governor’s signature and RBI emblem towards the right of Gandhi portrait.
On the back of the note, Ellora caves image is seen and language panel beside. Also, Swatch Bharat logo will be present along with the year of printing on the left.
