For the number of screens available in Andhra Pradesh state including that of Costal districts and Rayalaseema, any big-ticket entertainer gets only a limited set of theatres on any given day. But then, if all the big films so far posted only one particular number, Baahubali 2 became exceptional and now Saaho stood by its side.
Actually, Baahubali 2 made 42+ crores “share” on its Day 1 from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office. Then all other non-Baahubali players have struck up at the same 26+ crores ‘share’ mark as Aravinda Sametha, Agnyaathavasi and Vinaya Vidheya Rama stopped at that number with only difference of few lakhs between them on Day 1.
But now, Saaho made huge again, as the film collected close to 36+ crores ‘share’ on its First Day in Telugus states with 54 crores gross coming up. From Andhra Pradesh alone, the share is close to 27 crores we must say, thus reflecting that AP became a big market than Nizam and Bollywood combined.
This could be attributed to the craze for Prabhas as well as YS Jagan’s government which gave special permission to screen 6 shows a day and also to hike ticket prices to Rs 200 in most of the centres.
