Though anchor Ohmkar credits himself as the writer, screenplay designer and directors, his last two movies are scene-to-scene remakes of films that were super successful in other languages. But then, the films Raju gari Gadhi 2 and Raju Gari Gadhi 3 have neither received critical acclaim nor audiences worshipped (say worshipping) them inside theatres.
While Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is the remake of Malayalam film Pretham, the latest Raju Gari Gadhi 3 happens to be the remake of Tamil movie Dhilluku Dhuddu 2. While those films are hit in their respective tinsel towns, here critics are ripping apart these movies for lack of consistency, proper story and storytelling abilities. Also, this is because of another important factor that Ohmkar is missing out.
For RGG2, actually both Nagarjuna and Samantha are two over-cast characters in the movie. Their presence brought in unwanted hype and none believed that the profession of mentalist really exists. And to witness Samantha in such character that commits suicide over a leaked MMS didn’t go well.
Coming to RGG3, here the biggest mistake is choosing brother Ashwin Babu for the lead role, as the lead in the original is played by an able comedian like Santhanam. A guy with acting prowess and comedy timing would have done the job well. In case if Ohmkar’s remake horrors under the name of ‘Raju Gari Gadhi’ franchise ahs to work, he has to get the casting right.
