After battling for life for almost 40 hours, the 23-year-old Unnao rape survivor breathed her last on Friday night. She was burnt alive by the rape accused on Thursday and she suffered from 90 percent burns. She succumbed to her injuries on Friday night at Safdarjung hospital in Delhi.
The victim had been on ventilator and she suffered cardiac arrest at 11.10 pm and finally died at 11.40 pm. The two rape accused Shivam Trivedi and Shubham, who allegedly raped the victim last year December, had attacked the victim on Thursday while she was on her way to a local court in Raibareli of Uttar Pradesh to testify against the criminals.
In a brutal manner, the victim was attacked, stabbed and then finally burnt alive with kerosene in broad daylight. Immediately, the victim was rushed to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital at around 10.30 am on Thursday and she was airlifted to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital in the evening for better treatment where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday night.
