Did This Film Missed Out Being A Blockbuster?

More than the content of a film, their release date also really matters these days. For example, both Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru might have not collected such huge figures if it is not for the Sankranthi season where people have loads of holidays, free time and willing to spend money for entertainment.

Recently we have seen Nithin’s Bheeshma getting superb positive talk on Day 1, becoming the first film after the Sankranthi blockbusters to get thumbs up from the audiences. Released with a target of 26 crores from the box office, the film touched 23 crores share after the first week itself. But the film has crossed the line easily without making huge profits for the distributors we hear.

At the USA box office, Bheeshma struggled to touch 1 million mark as it fell short of it just by few lakh dollars. While the current collections give the distributor nice profits, but the film would have attained blockbuster status if it targeted any holiday season. They say that examination season and corona outbreak have also affected the prospects of Bheeshma, which otherwise would have become a blockbuster.

Directed by Venky Kudumula and bankrolled by Vamsi of Sithara Entertainment, Bheeshma featured Nithin, Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles while Sampath and Vennela Kishore’s funny roles played a crucial role in film’s success.
