Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation amid the pandemic Coronavirus scare and rumors. So far, four coronaviruses infected lost their lives and over 180 people across the country are infected with it. The government of India is implementing measures to control the spread of this virus, like the travel ban, self-quarantine, campaign social distancing, and cleanliness.
Modi today addressed the nation and also spoke about several rumors regarding the Coronavirus and government’s measures. Modi ruled out the rumors on possible national lockdown while he asked the nation to impose a self curfew on this Sunday, March 22 from 7am to 9pm, also saying that the next fifteen days are crucial to fight back the novel coronavirus.
Modi asked the seniors to stay home and clap for emergency responders at 5 am on March 22, in a way to thank them. Also, he asked to practice restraint and social distancing. Modi asked the citizens of India to give their time for the next few weeks to curb the virus from spreading, as we have been getting updates on how the worst-hit countries have been suffering.
For now, the government also decided to ban international flights from March 22. He urged the people of the country to work from home for the next few weeks and also asked the employers to not cut the pay of employees who could not be at work as an act of precaution to avoid Coronavirus.
PM Modi suggested a two-step solution to fight coronavirus, Resolve, and Restraint. He also stressed the word that it is wrong to think that India will not be affected by a coronavirus. Modi asked the citizens to maintain vigilance and said, it is not right to take a global pandemic like coronavirus lightly.
